Dion disses David Orchard: appoints a candidate in Desnethe-Churchill River

Stephane Dion has appointed Joan Beatty as the Liberal candidate in Desnethe-Churchill River over David Orchard.
Hmmm.....

Note that Stéphane Dion can redeem himself by appointing a VizMin (Asian?) female liberal in that Vancouver riding. HINT, HINT! Where 40% of residents are 1st or 2nd generation-Canadian, with the Chinese-Canadians forming the largest community.
Past posts about Vcvr: While we are at it, I would love to see a Chinese-Canadian candidate in the Vancouver Kingsway riding, too.
The 2001 census found just one-third of residents here listed English as their mother tongue. More than 55 per cent are immigrants. Nearly 40 per cent are ethnically Chinese – the second-highest such proportion of any riding.

The Vancouver-Kingsway liberal candidate is Wendy Yuen, who was actually the nominee prior to Martin's appointment of Emerson. She stepped aside and backed Emerson at the time, was a great team player and was rewarded thru her good deed by winning (altho with some minor controversy) the nomination this time around.
To show how much he appreciated her decision, Paul Martin will be making a rare fund-raising appearance in Vancouver at the end of this month @ a $30 ticket fundraiser for Wendy.
I hope David comes out and throughs his support behind Beatty. My main objective is that she was just elected by Sask voters, and to jump ship at this time seems a trite-bit opportunistic.
