Ottawa's Subway : $2B worth every dime

If Canada's Capital is ever to grow into a world class city, it needs rapid transit. With the expensive and ever decresing ridership of OC Transpo, the awful, unrealiable and expensive bus system, the speed train is the best remedy.

Yeah, it costs alot of money (article: Transit tunnel cost balloons). So does inertia!

Diva gets all verklempt at the sight of proposed subway station schema.

We could have gotten this thing off the ground for half the cost 10 years ago, when then Mayor Chiarelli was doing alot of talking but no action on the file.

And if we wait another 10 years, we'll be looking at bigger city (1.5 M?), a bigger chronic OC Transpo problem, smore senseless strikes, a bigger bill, and a Toronto-like traffic gridlock (article from today's Toronto Star: Why Toronto has an all-day rush hour).

Funny how we have no problem mortgaging our grandchilren's pension for war and other DND boondoggles, but spend a few billion on modern mass transportation and it's a problem?!

Bite the bullet, suck it up, and start digging already!
